I just had to comment on this beer. There is a plethora of great beers available to the majority of consumers today. Every once in a while, you get that "wow factor" or sometimes just that kick back and relax beer. Sometimes, however, you come across that beer, that you just keep going back to.
This is one of those beers. No, it's not the world's greatest beers, and its definitely no "lawnmower beer." Long Trail's hibernators is just one of those beers that puts a smile on your face. It's that beer you just keep on the bottom shelf of your fridge, away from grabby (hands unless your father-in-law scours the fridge and apprehends it for his own), that you look forward to after a long day at work or just to close a satisfying day.
I tried to think of a lot of descriptive terms for Hibernator. Some word that just catches its essence, grabs your attention and really just holds true to the essence of this brew. But when it boiled down to it, the only thing that came to my mind was "This i just a really good beer."
It's mellow body, its malty but not overpowering sweetness. It's smooth satisfying finish. It has an almost creamy mouth feel, but not thick. One reviewer described it as "buttery." Each and every sip, just leaves you happy you chose this as your finisher of the day. Its just enjoyable and gives your mouth a wonderful how to do. It's also not filling, even though it can seem heavy and complex, but just as a glass of cold water on a hot day can be refreshing, this beer - really at any time- is just a welcome introduction to you senses of smell and taste.
Thank you Long Trail and may you continue your brewing tradition and making this beautiful beverage. It's really up there with the over top quality crafts.
